Outline of the role

As an orchard volunteer you will have the opportunity to work in a beautiful setting, the work will include:

  • pruning and general maintenance of the orchard
  • maintaining the meadow grass
  • creating and nurturing compost flowers
  • mixing seed in lawn areas
  • planting wildflower seeds
  • creating wildlife habitats

Time

Flexible time commitment. Ideally volunteers should be available for one day a month but this may increase over the summer months.

Skills and experience required

  • interest in our parks and the great outdoors
  • enthusiastic about maintaining Kearsney Parks
  • flexibility to carry out a variety of tasks, there is a need to spend time out of doors in all weathers, although spring and summer are our busiest months

  • induction and training with ongoing support
    loan of gloves and all relevant tools and safety equipment
    refreshments
    further training where applicable
